Backpacking- Erickson Lakes

We went on a more low-key backpack trip over the 24th of July weekend and my mom even got to come. We left on thursday and hiked to the Erickson Lakes in the Uinta Mountains. There was one bad thing about this trip. Dave was not able to come because of homework and finals being next week. I missed him a lot and wished he could have been there.

On friday we went on a day hike to Big Elk Lake. On the way we stopped at a pond and it was full of salamanders. Robbie caught one. We fished at Big Elk Lake and went for a swim. It was a lot of fun.

Dave is usually the operator of our little camp stove and he has it down to perfection. It took me a little bit of work. This is me cooking with our stove and sleeping in my little one man tent without Dave :(. Hopefully I won't get any better at using the stove because Dave will be there with me!

We gave my Dad a Jet Boil stove for Fathers Day and this was his first trip using it and it was amazing! We hiked out on Saturday and made one more stop to swim at East Shingle Creek before we reached our car. Thanks Dad for another fun adventure!
